Thanks, Eric, the original ref photo was very nicely composed, so that made this an appealing image to do. I’ll be setting it aside now for next year’s Calgary Stampede proposal.

I’m glad you’re feeling inspired! I have a cat and then a dog (commissions) lined up next, and I’m grateful for that. I tend to feel somewhat “blah” artistically following a show, so it’s nice to have an idea or two on the back-burner.

That’s funny you say you’re “not 100% pleased with it” because that is exactly the same language I used just now in reply to your comment on my site (the ‘anathema’ piece). I’m definitely hard on myself, but then, only we really know where we could have done better, right? Of course the frustrating thing with scratchboard is — there’s no going back!
