Where the Rabbit Sat, Sketch. Pen & ink over graphite. Copyright 2008, Tania Nault.
As you can see, I did spend a few moments outside today. I think I need to get myself some “convertible” mittens (you know, the ones with the flap that folds back to expose your fingers) because, man, did my hands ever get cold. Either that, or I need to learn to draw with my gloves on.
One of my Christmas presents was a gift certificate from Colours for art supplies (Thanks, Terry!) and I spent it on a sketch book, couple Graphitint pencils and sharpener, as well as a nylon, zippered bag to carry my new ”drawing kit” in. After I’d picked everything out I went up to the front counter. The owner was there and I’ve known her for years, we chatted while the new clerk she was training rang everything in. She asked if I was going on a trip.
“No, I’m just following through on my New Year’s resolution.”
The clerk asked, “What’s that, to buy more art supplies?”
The owner and I exchanged glances and then she burst out laughing, “I doubt Tania needs a resolution to buy more art supplies!”
She’s right, of course.
